After enjoying a day off on day 2, Team USA jumped back in the water on day 3 looking to avenge its earlier loss to Hungary. Team USA squared off against Egypt and got off to an early 4-1 first quarter lead. By the end of the third the US extended its lead to 10-4. Marco Stanchi and Team USA kicked off day one at the FINA Youth World Championships with a 13-8 loss to world power Hungary. Despite giving up the first goal of the game, Team USA rebounded to take a 6-4 lead heading into halftime. But a series of Hungary adjustments led to a 9-2 second half surge. Team USA battled but could not keep pace with one of the world’s best water polo nations. Stanchi started at center and drew a handful of ejections in the loss.
