Empowering Excellence: Bellevue High Water Polo Teams Benefit from PTSA Support
This year, the Bellevue High School Water Polo teams received funding from the Bellevue High School PTSA to support two requests: new deck coats for the team and a 6-8 Challenge kit.
The 6-8 Challenge kit enables players to measure fundamental water polo skills and compare their individual performance regionally and globally against other athletes. Developed by Tony Azevedo and Maggie Stephens—two of America’s most influential water polo athletes—the 6-8 Challenge serves as a personal performance evaluation tool. The Wolverines are engaged in five drills: 12-meter sprint, medicine ball hold, vertical jump, radar gun shooting speed, and two buoy. These drills help players track their progress and set targeted goals throughout the season for personal improvement.
The Wolverine Boys appreciate the new deck coats, especially as the weather turns colder and wetter, and the 6-8 Challenge kit, which helps them develop into exceptional players and teammates. One player remarked, “6-8 Challenge is super fun, helps me understand where I need to grow as a player, and during the assessment is a great time to bond with my teammates.”
Thank you, Bellevue High School PTSA, for your generous donation and support of the Wolverine Water Polo program. The players, coaches, and parents are grateful for the assistance.
