2024 Wolverine Boy’s Start Strong
The boys kicked off the 2024 season strong with a 14-6 victory over Kentridge on Wednesday afternoon at home. The team showcased a strong defense by holding the Chargers to 3 goals in each half and goalie Sol with 12 saves for the game. The captains were a force on offense putting up a shared 9 goals for the team. The JV team was victorious, winning 9-6. The team did a great job of spreading out scoring, with five players each adding to the total score.
Friday night the team traveled south to Auburn Riverside to take on the Ravens. The varsity boys started out strong in the first quarter, going up 6-0 in the first quarter. The Ravens cut the lead to 1-point in the second quarter, but the boys pulled away to a 10-point lead in the third quarter. Our freshman players came out to play, putting up a combined 14 points and drawing 5 exclusions. In the end, the Wolverines closed out the game, beating the Ravens 21-16. The JV team played with a defensive mindset holding the Ravens to zero points until the fourth quarter. The team did a fantastic job with seven players putting up points and Nathan and Brenden both pulling in a few steals, leading to a 12-3 win.
