JV Tournament Results and Photos

On Saturday 9/16 Bellevue’s JV players entered the first of their weekend tournaments.  On Saturdays throughout the season High School JV teams from all divisions 1 – 3 meet at Edgebrook with each team playing two games.  Our JV’s (Freshmen and any players who have never played in a prior season) matched up against North Shore and Kennedy Catholic HS.  Bellevue beat North Shore handily with shots from nearly all our players and Bellevue lost to Kennedy.  Kennedy was either beating Bellevue on the fast break or they were just leaving a cherrypicking player down court to receive a long pass whenever Bellevue lost possession on the offense.  Overall, Bellevue’s kids had loads of shots, but they failed to connect with the back of the goal, which was their ultimate demise.  Dialing in our aim and keeping the ball low or in the corners would make a world of difference.  Most important, however, is the fact that every Bellevue player got plenty of playing time.  Tournaments are where polo players get the most important experience.
