Bellevue beats SI, 14-5
A beautiful, sunny Senior Night capped off Bellevue’s last home game of the season, versus Sammamish Interlake. A wonderful turnout encouraged the Wolverines as they pushed against the Sirens to take the game, 14-5.
Our Seniors, Lili Braun, Paige Heinemann, and Ava Grays, all got extra playing time during the game, and each girl finished the game having scored a goal! Ashley Kwon led scoring, with 4 goals on 5 shots, 2 steals, and 2 ejections drawn. Ava Grays led the offense beautifully throughout the game, scoring 1 goal, with 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 ejection drawn. Lacey Aquaro and Ellie Albert were both also assets on both ends of the pool, each with 2 goals. Kendall and Kayla Fitzpatrick, Riley Neibert, and Yejee Park also each scored 1 goal, on top of their amazing teamwork during the game. Can’t forget our goalies either, Audrey Grays had 7 saves, Riley Neibert had 4, and Lili Braun had 2!
First quarter was filled with action, ejections from both teams, and two 5-meter penalty shots by Bellevue, each resulting in a goal, score 5-2 Bellevue. The second quarter chilled out a little bit, as the girls entered their zone, bringing the score up to 9-3 Bellevue, only letting in 1 SI goal. Third quarter continued their vibe, earning another 5-meter shot, and Ellie Albert got 2 consecutive goals in 30 seconds, score 13-3 Bellevue. The fourth quarter was a great end to a great game, the Wolverines continued to battle SI to the very end, with a final score of 14-5 Bellevue.
