Bellevue beats Mercer Island, 9-3
The rivals across the lake battled it out in an entertaining, ruthless, action-packed late-night game! 4 grueling quarters ended with Bellevue coming out on top, winning 9-3 against rivals, the Mercer Island Islanders!
The amount of offensive action from this game was unmatched, especially in such an important game against MI. Ashley Kwon led in goals, scoring 6, on top of 3 steals and an assist. Lacey Aquaro had 2 goals and 4 steals. Ellie Albert got a goal, had 2 steals and 2 assists. Kendall Fitzpatrick and Yejee Park were defensive weapons, each having 4 steals. Goalie Audrey Grays guarded the cage beautifully, with 5 saves.
The excitement kicked off right at the first quarter, both offense and defense were working hard. The first quarter ended with MI up 1-0. The second quarter, the Wolverines picked it up, ending with score 3-2 Bellevue. By the third quarter, Bellevue entered a shatterproof rhythm, with Lacey Aquaro earning a 5-meter penalty shot, end of third quarter Bellevue widened their lead to 7-2. The fourth quarter, the Wolverines maintained their pace and energy, earning yet another 5-meter, and reading the pool better than ever. Final score 9-3 Bellevue. Shoutout to Ashley Kwon, who won all 4 sprints!
Next week on Wednesday, April 26th, the Wolverines face off against Sammamish Interlake at Samena Swim club @7:45 pm. Next Friday and Saturday is also the Roger High School Tournament, with games on Friday at 5:30 and 7:30, and Saturday at 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm! Be there!
