Bellevue beats Newport, 10-2
Despite freezing cold temperatures, Bellevue stayed hot, etching its fourth straight win against Division I team and city rival Newport. The Wolverines fought hard in a brutal, entertaining, and hotly contested game, ending with a final score of 10-2.
Goalie Audrey Grays had a fantastic game, with 12 saves, constantly fighting for the ball and strategically launching it to the offense. Bellevue had an amazing offense, with four goal scorers each contributing massively on offense: Ava Grays and Lacey Aquaro with 2 goals, and Ellie Albert and Ashley Kwon with 3 goals. Extra props to Lacey Aquaro for great defensive action, with 6 steals.
The first quarter was like ping-pong, constant back and forth, ending with Bellevue up by 2. The second quarter, Newport got on the scoreboard, bringing the score to 4-1 Bellevue. The third quarter was action-packed, with tons of ejections and aggressive play. Finally, Newport fought hard and upped their intensity, but it wasn’t enough to fend off out Wolverines, final score 10-2.
