Bellevue blanks Inglemoor to kick-off 2014
In their season opener on Monday night, the boys water polo team opened their title defense by beating Inglemoor 16-0 at Aqua Club Pool in Kenmore.
>Out of the gate, senior co-captain Marco Stanchi, sophomore Cameron Hayes, and junior Zack Rossman found the back of the net, helping Bellevue build a 8-0 first quarter lead.
Sophomore Cameron Hayes led the Wolverines with four goals. Stanchi and Rossman netted three goals each, while senior co-captain Liam Naughton and senior Garrett Williams each scored twice. Senior Noah Lauter and freshman AJ Rossman scored their first varsity goals of their respective careers. Senior Josh Rehder led the team with four assists and four steals.
Naughton also posted five saves at goal during the first half, while Stanchi guarded the cage in the second half and tallied three saves.
Bellevue (1-0) hosts its first home game of the season on Wednesday at 3:30pm against cross-town rival Newport.
