Bellevue downs Inglemoor 6-2

On a rainy Friday afternoon at Woodridge Pool, the Bellevue Wolverines defeated the Inglemoor Vikings 6-2 to improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Wolverines opened the game with three quick goals, two by junior co-captain Julie Mao and one by sophomore Nina Stash. However, Inglemoor responded with two late goals to end the period trailing 3-2.
Early in the second quarter, freshman Morgan Baker earned an ejection and scored on a quick shot to put Bellevue up 4-2. Mao scored her third goal of the game at the 4:42 mark to extend the lead to 5-2 entering halftime.
The second half proved to be a low scoring affair dominated by strong defense. Senior co-captain Sierra Anderson led the defensive effort, registering 10 saves and one steal. In the fourth quarter, sophomore Maggie Ugelstad scored Bellevue’s final goal on a rebound after her five-meter penalty shot barred out.
