Bellevue edged by Bainbridge, 4-3
When Bellevue last played Bainbridge on March 22nd, the score was a lopsided 17-4 in favor of the Spartans. Last night, the result was much different. Although the Wolverines lost 4-3 in a thrilling defensive battle, the young squad took solace in their rapid improvement, especially on the defensive end.
After a valuable learning experience against Lakes two days earlier, the Wolverines deployed a new and improved team defense and stymied the Spartans’ attack. Junior Sierra Anderson shined in goal, making several spectacular blocks and racking up 10 saves total. Freshman Sophie French led the Wolverines with two goals, while junior two-meter Sophie Quynn added two ejections drawn.
Bellevue (3-7) travels to Auburn tomorrow afternoon to compete in the Auburn Invitational.
