Bowers to Compete at La Verne
Senior Jordan Bowers has committed to playing water polo at University of La Verne in the fall of 2012.
Located near Los Angeles, La Verne is an NCAA Division III program that competes in the SCIAC (Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) conference. Other SCIAC members include Pomona-Pitzer, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Redlands, Cal Lutheran, Whittier, Occidental, Chapman and Caltech.
Bowers is a two-year varsity starter and 2011 Second-Team All-State selection. A relative late-comer to the sport, he joined the Bellevue High School team as a sophomore. His athleticism and speed helped him become a varsity starter in just his second year of competitive water polo. As a senior, he led Bellevue to its first-ever state title and earned Second-Team All-State honors. His 46 goals were good for third on the team. He was also third in assists, third in ejections draw, and fourth in steals.
